The Healer's Guide
-------------------------------
On this page you will discover all the secrets shared between the Sigma and the Amah. The information is here to give roleplayers an idea of what kind of herbs their looking for when their healer must do its duty for the pack.
-------------------------------
A Sigma shows interest in plantlife very early on, and cares for other wolves, even if it is dark, for it is the wolf's calling to heal and help others. They also have a unique connection with the spirits of the deceased. Alphas may sometimes have the same abilities to communicate with the deceased, but the Sigma is more developed in his/her ability. The Sigma might take a mate, but if too much mental and emotional energy is used on that mate, it becomes too hard to focus on regular duties, and impossible to communicate with the afterlife. Your first duty is to healing the pack.
Things that a Sigma uses in healing:
Cobwebs- To stop wounds from bleeding.
Traveling herbs- herbs eaten when a wolf has a long journey ahead of it and may not rest to have food.
Anise- Gets rid of bad smelling breath.
Marigold - for wounds to prevent infection
Ash Tree- New shoots are to be eaten, and chewed to ward off the effects of a adder. Seeds of the Ash tree may also be consumed to relieve a cramp in ones side.
Tansy- for coughs
Ginger- Good for curing stomache aches.
Celandine- Given to a wolf with pain in the eyes.
Broken Rosemary Blossoms- Used to heal eye infection or to cover up wounds around the eyes or eyelids.
Juniper Berrires- for bellyache
Goldenrod- Used to treat wounds and to ease pain.
Borage leaves- for fever
Chevril root- for bellyache
Horsetail- Helps prevent infection, and used to soothe and heal infected wounds.
Colt's foot- Used to treat pup cough, Also used to help stimulate breating.
Comfrey- When chewed into a poultice and applied, can clear up pretty much any skin irritation, including burns, cuts and mosquito bites.
Yarrow leaves- to get rid of poisoning
Lavender- Combined with feverfew to cure chills.
Burdock root - for infection in wounds, especially rat bites.
Alder Bark - chewed to relieve tooth aches and pain in the jaw.
Chickweed- Used to help with digestion, swallowing and the settling of the stomach.
Mouse Bile- Given to a wolf with ticks~(A wad of moss soaked in mouse bile is distributed to tick infested area, sooner or later the ticks drop off)
Feverfew- Used to reduce fever, combined with lavender to calm nerves and cure chill.
Death Berries - small, scarlet berries that cause painful spasms throughout the body, as well as cause swelling in the throat that cuts off air. Eating just one is capable of causing death(mostly in younger wolves), but eating any more than one guarantees your death. The juices of the berry can cause an uncomfortable numbing throughout the body, tingling and a burning sensation.
Much of this has been found on wolvesofthewoods.proboards83.com/, and I don't take credit for making up any of this.
