X.General Information.X
Formal Curse: Illidan Stormrage.
Means: An ancient name that he never learned the meaning of.
Title
Alias: Should he meet anyone he would give them his full name, but he has never been called by anything other than Illidan.
Decent: Gray wolf.
Age: Though physically matured, he never reached the age of 2 years; for how many millenniums he has remained stunted at this age, he has lost count... (His immortality now stripped from him, he may begin to age normally again, though he has already gained the strength, hatred and corruption for thousands of years of suffering.)
Gender: Male.
Persona: Illidan has become enraptured by hatred and vengeance, perhaps possessed by the demons that he once fought valiantly for his people. Feeling nothing but betrayal from the ones he once loved and called family, whom he risked his life for, he has turned from them and sworn suffering upon them and the world for their ignorance. Due to the path he chose early in life, he was not able to make friends, save for the few allies that worked alongside him as demon hunters. However, he did have family, and he once loved them dearly. He does know what it's like to feel, but he has long since put emotion behind him. After the torture he went through, he could never trust anyone again, nor draw close to anyone. He lives for himself and his vengeance now, and will stop at nothing to ensure that the world will suffer as he has suffered.
Heart: Though once caring and noble, his motives are now clearly demonic, driven by the endless rage and pain in his heart.
Motto: "Sometimes the hand of fate must be forced."
X.Physical Traits.X
Peltage Hue: His peltage is a dusky obsidian hue with a dark violet tint over his head, neck and shoulders.
Occualr Hue: His eyes glow an unnatural shade of green, though they do not see; as a demon hunter, it was ritual for him to blind himself so that he would be able to see the spiritual world without the hinderance of the physical world surrounding him.
Stands: 48" at the shoulder. The strain of wolf from which he was born has grown tall on their secluded islands.
Weighs: 150 lbs. His lifestyle has allowed him to grow much stronger than many wolves.
Form: Illidan is powerful in every way. His natural born shape is lean and agile, though his duties have allowed him to acquire muscle that is much heavier than most wolves.
Physical Distortions: He has many scars upon his body, though surprisingly none really stand out. His deepest scars are emotional and spiritual.
X.Family Tree.X
Sire: The man passed so many millenniums ago, before immortality was granted upon their pack, that Illidan could not possibly remember his name.
Dame: The woman passed so many millenniums ago, before immortality was granted upon their pack, that Illidan could not possibly remember her name.
Brothers: Furion Stormrage [whereabouts unknown].
Sisters: None.
Partner: His heart has always longed for Tyrande Whisperwind's affection, admiring her kindness and the way she defended him justly before he was imprisoned beneath the earth for ten thousand years. During his imprisonment, his brother was able to steal Tyrande's heart, only fueling his hatred further, yet never dousing his feelings for her.
Whelps: The life he chose did not include producing offspring.
Challengers: Currently none.
Minions: Bone Shatter. Deathwish.
Rank: Alpha Male.
X.Background.X
Life Story: As a young wolf, Illidan was drawn to the elder's stories of the demon hunters and their adventures and battles. Of course, their stories were sugar-coated for enjoyment purposes, but Illidan found special interest in them. As he grew older, he strayed from the regular training and drew closer to those who battled spiritually for the good of their pack. Little did he know what the future held for them all; no one knew back then, and it seemed a noble way to serve his pack. So, after much talk amongst the council, Illidan was granted permission to follow the ways of the demon hunters. As was ritual, the hunters took him and they showed him the ritual he must perform to relieve himself of his eyesight so that he may properly learn their ways. He had no regrets in blinding himself, and did so without hesitation.
Illidan excelled in his training, and it was not long before he was aiding his teachers as an apprentice in their duties. However, amongst the eldest of the demon hunters were those who knew of demons who offered immortality. They constantly seeked out these demons, bargaining lives for the tree of immortality that they offered. They compromised the safety of the pack for their own greed for power and endless life as they grew older. As a young, influencial wolf, Illidan was drawn into the nightmare, and it was not long before he too began the search for immortality. Not once did he offer a life in return for knowledge of the tree, for he did not wish to harm his family. But he was still associated. Not a year had passed before everybody knew what was going on with the demon hunters, and they were soon looked down upon, each and every one of them; even those who had done no wrong. It was just before his second birthday that Illidan discovered the demon that would grant this immortality, and he was given a choice; let the demons possess him in return for immortality for he and his entire pack and all of their allies, or continue fighting them for eternity, only to die a few years from now anyway.
His judgement was clouded by youth, and hunger for power and respect amongst his packmates. Surely their immortality was worth a small sacrifice? He agreed to the terms laid down to him, though it was not what he had expected. The demons infected his body and the bodies of his comrades (the demon hunters), turning them all mad for dark things that they had never wanted before; blood, lust, shadows, power. But they were immortal; the tree had been planted, the tree that signified their endless life. They would never die. And that was the biggest regret of Illidan's life. Everybody had seen it happen, and they all knew who had done it.
It was nearly a year before the pack decided his fate, for allowing darkness to ravage their pack and his own body. He was powerful, and it was difficult to keep him restrained, but with collective force they managed to imprison him in an underground tomb of darkness. Few came to his defense. Tyrande was amongst them, and although he had never found interest in love before, he felt his heart go out to her; he could no longer see her beauty like he had as a pup, but he could feel it radiate off of her as she defended him passionately. Though a powerful and respected priestess amongst his pack, her arguements were not enough. She could not save him. He had been sentenced to ten thousand years alone in his tomb, and so strong were the spiritual bonds that bound him that he would never escape. But no one thought that in his time alone, struggling against stravation, thirst, loneliness and the demons that haunted him, he would only grow stronger.
At the tenthousandth year, it was decided that Illidan should never be released. His people had grown comfortable with the notion that the demons and their hunters were trapped beneath the earth, unable to escape, ever. But he had grown powerful with hatred and vengeance brewing like a storm, crackling like lightning within his heart; the demons willed it all upon him, for it was not in his nature to hate and grudge with such passion. Great terrors reigned down upon his people while he was trapped, and the undefeatable forces destroyed their tree of eternity. It was not long after that Illidan escaped their clutches; no longer immortal, but still young with thousands of years under his belt. He left them all, but not with the intention of never returning. Oh no, he would come back one day, and when he did, they would all be made to suffer, though nothing could be so horrific as what he had gone through...
Place of Birth: Illidan was born in the realms of Kalimdor.
